The Elite wave begin at 7:40 and 7:50 a.m. Elites have mandatory obstacle completion, and failure to complete an obstacle is a disqualification in this wave. Racers are permitted to take as many attempts as needed to complete the obstacle without hindering racers behind them. Elites are racing for prize money, the coveted Thor’s Hammer and OCRWC (Obstacle Course Racing Word Championship) qualifying spots.
Create your Clan! We have designated a team competition wave. Each team must have a minimum of 3 racers including at least 1 female. Teams must start and finish together while carrying their own team-made flag. Teams will carry their own team-made flag through the course while using teamwork to ensure that the flag does not touch the ground. If the flag touches the ground the whole team will serve a 25 burpee penalty. Flags must be a minimum of 2'x3' with the pole a minimum of 3' in length. Teams can help each other through the obstacles. Teams may create as many clans as they'd like as long as they meet the requirements for each clan. This is the only wave that will recognize Top 3 Team Prizes.
If you want to show team pride but still race as an individual be sure to name your team during registration. Recognition of the largest team award will be taken from teams named in the individual open waves.
Racers are required to attempt every obstacle, if you are unable to complete an obstacle in three tries you must serve a 25 burpee penalty. Top 3 male and female finishers in the open waves will receive prizes and OCRWC qualifying positions in the age groups of 55 and under and 56 and over.
New this year! Runners will complete 2 laps of the course and all obstacle must be completed for both laps. Race begins at 8 a.m. and cut off time is 12:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded.
