COVID-19 UPDATE AT SUNNY HILL

Taking Precautions to Keep Our Guests & Our Staff Safe

The health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority here at Sunny Hill Resort and Golf Course. We are happy to be able to open our doors for our 100th Anniversary and are only able to do so by complying with the New York Forward Reopening Plan. We are making some temporary adjustments in order to follow public health safety guidelines and ask for your commitment to adhere to this protocol. By visiting Sunny Hill Resort and Golf Course, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure of COVID-19.

To ensure compliance with current state and county guidelines, we will be making modifications to our operations so that we can ensure that all guests and employees will be able to adhere to social distancing throughout their stay responsibly. Please know that any changes to schedules and protocol are entirely motivated by your safety.

Before you Leave

There is nothing we look forward to more than welcoming our guests to our beautiful mountain getaway. However, if you are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19 please postpone your vacation. These symptoms include cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell. Please contact us so that we know you will not be traveling.

Arrival and Departure

Check-in: Upon arrival please send only 1 member of the reservation in for check-in.  To reduce crowding or lines in the office we ask that you pay your bill during a less active time throughout your stay. Check-out: Please leave your key in the designated area in the office. In order to allow our staff ample time for proper sanitizing of the rooms, please note that Check-out is at 10:00am and Check-in is at 4:00pm. However, we invite you to still join us for lunch and enjoy the property until your room is properly sanitized. 

Signage and Face Coverings

Please read and follow all signs posted throughout the property. Face coverings are currently required when entering any resort building and at any time outdoors when 6-foot spacing is not possible.

Dining

All waitstaff are required to wear face coverings during mealtime. We ask that you wear your mask into the dining hall. You will be seated at tables with no more than 10 people and with your family or reservation party. We have removed several rows of tables to allow for proper spacing. Masks are not required during mealtime however, we ask that you wear your masks when moving through the dining hall.

BBQ/Cookout

Waitstaff will be required to wear masks at all points during mealtime. Please wear your mask when you move through the line and allow for 6 feet between yourself and guests.  All food will be served to you. Masks are not required when seated during mealtime.

Activities

Tournaments will be held as usual. If you cannot adhere to 6 feet apart during this time, please wear protective face coverings. Tournaments will have no more than 25 participants. Please feel free to bring your own equipment.

Just For Fun Rides

Riders will be reduced on each ride to allow for spacing. We ask that you ride with your family or group and wear masks for protection. Hand sanitizing units will be placed at the front of the line to allow for sanitizing before entry.

Entertainment

In an effort to allow safe space in our Armae Hall, we have removed several tables and chairs. During evening games, tables will be set up in the middle of the room as needed. Any musical entertainment will be moved lakeside to our stage in the Pine Grove or to the Pavilion weather depending to allow for proper spacing for dancing.

Housekeeping

Our staff continues to adhere to the highest level of cleanliness you have grown accustomed to over the past century. Particular attention is paid to high touch items like doorknobs, switches, remotes, handles, faucets, and AC controls. Housekeeping staff will be required to wear a mask at all times when in guest rooms.  Guests are not to be in rooms while receiving housekeeping services. In addition, we've invested in sanitizing foggers and will be following all best practices to ensure your safety. Daily housekeeping will be an opt-in preference. Please let your housekeeper know if you would like daily service. Check out: 10:00 am , Check in : 4:00 pm.  Daily housekeeping will not be available past 12:00 pm.

Pool

Pool seating will be configured to allow for at least 6 feet of spacing for groups of no more than 10 traveling together. According to the NYSDOH, those who are outside of their family group and are unable to maintain 6 feet must be prepared to wear a face mask. For health and safety concerns, ensure that masks are NOT worn by individuals while they are in the water.

Public Spaces

For the safety of our guests please maintain 6 feet apart in public spaces. The staff will be performing regular cleaning and sanitizing in public areas. Please take precautions to sanitize hands at any of the stations placed throughout the resort property.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

All staff will wear masks at all times when interacting with guests. Please do not be offended when they do not shake your hand; it is for your safety as well as theirs. All guests are asked to bring their own face coverings to wear when indoors or unable to social distance.

For safety concerns, the Day Camp and Fitness Room will remain closed for the season.

The Sunny Hill Golf Course is Now Open!

We will be following the same precautions as Thunderhart to keep our golfers and our staff safe. Please note the following when you golf at Sunny Hill this season:

  • Food and drink will be available for take-out only.
  • Follow the signage, there will be:
    • One way to enter.
    • One way to exit.
  • Maximum 4 people in the clubhouse at one time.
