Since the day of the disaster in New York, all of our friends at Sunny Hill have been on my mind. This country has come together, and a deep feeling of patriotism has swept over all of us. One of my little grandchildren was watching all of the specials on TV and referred to the songs being played as “Sunny Hill” songs. Your family never needs an excuse to celebrate the freedom we take so for granted. I’m grateful to have experienced the “celebration of America” at the fireworks display each Friday night for the past couple of years. I’m happy to say that each of my grandchildren has learned how good it is to be a “flag waver” long before this tragedy.
I’d like to thank all of you for many things. Over the past 43 years we have shared lots of fun and our share of sorrows. Our family has had a beautiful place to visit each year. Danny and I spent weekends there as a young married couple. When our children came along, one after the other, your home was the only vacation we could all have. Each of our 5 children cherish Sunny Hill. It is a special place to bring a friend or husband or wife-to-be. We had great times in the Parkchester sometimes with 11 or 12 people in our room! We have now grown to 5 full rooms with our grandchildren running in and out of “Nanny and Poppy’s” room #4.
I guess in a nutshell, I just want to say thank you, I love you all, see you next year, stay well, and God bless us all!

“So refreshing”
I am so glad that you have kept Sunny Hill going all these years!! Lucky for Tim and me, you’re all still there after a 17-year absence for us. My goddaughter Lauren and her brother Christian really enjoyed themselves last month. Tim and I are shocked at how many new things have been added over the years. It was so refreshing to spend time in such a family-oriented place and be surrounded by nice, really nice people. Keep up the good work!!! And many thanks again!!!
Sincerely,
-E. Woods
“The most pleasant days of our lives”
After spending 4 days at your resort, we must again give our thanks for the most pleasant days of our lives!
Gary, Wayne, and Gail have developed the most unusual resort. Your 300 acres executed with sights, sounds, food, accommodations, and fulfilling activities – all the senses, plus that view.
No wonder why your steady clientele repeats, and repeats – you keep investing in their pleasure of life as an individual, and family – from your family.
Two memories will prevail:
1. The introductory tram trip with first person, pride and enthusiastic narrative.
2. The Piano Museum
A third is a more penetrating spirit of dedication – promoting peace, contentment, relaxation, and dreaming.
You have offered to us, how individuals can build a better life – yours a family resort, and create activities that are unique. Of particular note is the dedication, from morning to night, of every staff person, to insure a successful visit, and instill a determination to serve, not seen anywhere else.
Also, our admiration on your grounds, mechanical, electrical, decorating, good taste, buildings, equipment, playgrounds, golf course framing, and cleanliness. How much more can we say? Have a great weekend, and a great winter.
-Mr. & Mrs. J. Hebeler
"We’ve been hooked on this place our whole lives"
My friends and I have the same conversation every year. We ask each other, ”Why do we keep coming to Sunny Hill? Shouldn’t we have grown out of it now?” But, then we look around us and answer our own question. Sunny Hill has become a huge part of our lives. This year we celebrated 10 years of knowing our group. But that’s not all. My Grandma has been coming for 21 years, and we know people coming for over 50 years. All of those people are not the only reason that we keep coming up every year. There is no other place where you can find the sincere kindness that your family shows towards everyone who comes to your resort. When my Grandma suffered from heat exhaustion this summer you called an ambulance, sat in the room with us, and didn’t leave until the paramedics left. Wayne, you gave my Dad your home phone number in case we needed you – which we did. And not only did you take them to the hospital in the middle of the night, but you sat in the waiting room with my Dad until you knew what was going on. You did all these things that you didn’t have to do. Because of that, we appreciate everything you do even more. To go out of your way for someone like that is incredible. My family and I could not be more thankful than that.
When I was 12 years old and my sister was 8, we told our parents that we wanted to go to Disney for vacation that year. They said sure, but we couldn’t go to Sunny Hill if we did. My sister and I looked at each other and immediately shook our heads, said no thanks, and that was it. We’ve been hooked on this place our whole lives and we can’t wait to bring our families there one day.
So thank you so much for everything you do and for the years of wonderful memories that you’ve given us. It means so much to so many people. You make Sunny Hill impossible to let go of.
Love & thanks,
-Valerie, Allison, and the rest of the Pendolino/Martorana Family
"All the kind and thoughtful things you do"
Our family has also been blessed to have found such a wonderful place to spend our family vacations. You don’t know how important it is to me that our children remember their vacations as those filled with laughter and fun. Sunny Hill has given us that since the first time we came there. You, Gary, and Wayne make that possible with all the kind and thoughtful things you do.

"The perfect place to be"
My family just returned from a glorious week at Sunny Hill and we wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we all had. We were a bit overdue for a relaxing vacation, and Sunny Hill was the perfect place to be. It was fantastic to have a whole week to swim in the pool, play games, enjoy the lake, take in the evening entertainment, and make new friends, and the days passed far too quickly. It was a great way to cap off the summer, and put us all in the right frame of mind as we look ahead to the fall and a new school year. So thank you for all the hospitality – and for arranging a picture perfect week weather-wise, too.
